ITALY (ROUND 11)

Torino 2-1 Cagliari
Joel Obi
marked his return after months in the sidelines with a 66th minute header to put the game beyond visiting Cagliari. It was Torino’s first win after 5 games, and Obi had only stepped onto the pitch 10 minutes earlier before he turned it Torino’s way. Despite limited time in the Serie A this season, Joel has shown why he is rated one of the best midfielders in the Italian top-tier.  Teammate, Sadiq Umar returned back to the bench after being handed starting-berths in the last three previous rounds.

AS Roma 1-0 Bologna
Orji Okonkwo
, spent the entire duration of the match in Bologna’s bench while they lost away to Roma.

Crotone 2-1 Fiorentina
Simeon ‘Simy’ Tochukwu was suited up to come off the bench in the 79th minute with Crotone ahead. The scoreline remained the same during his time on the pitch.

PORTUGAL (ROUND 10)

Benfica 1-0 Feirense
Oghenekaro Etebo
was on for Feirense from start to finish in their away loss to Benfica. Dele Alampasu, however, was not listed for the tie. Dele has been named in Feirense’s bench three times so far this season.

Portimonense 5-2 Setubal
Portimonense did not list former Golden Eaglets midfielder,  Chidiera Ezeh, who is sidelined with a knee injury. However, Ezeh’s teammate, 27-year-old forward Stanley Awurum joined the fray in the 82nd minute only to pick up a yellow card 3 minutes later.

Maritimo 2-0 Tondela
Relatively unknown 20-year-old defender, Junior Pius, was missing once again from Tondela’s line up. Pius has been suited up twice this season.

SPAIN (ROUND 10)

Girona 2-1 Real Madrid
Real Madrid’s woes continued in the LaLiga after they could not hold on to a first half lead away to Girona. Olaranwaju Kayode came off the bench in the 82nd minute and Girona held on to their lead.

Las Palmas 1-3 Deportivo
Deportivo’s new coach, Cristobal Parralo seems to have turned their fortunes around as they returned to winning ways away to Las Palmas. This time Super Eagles new invitee, Francis Uzoho was not listed for the encounter.
