Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, has called up Olarenwaju Kayode as a replacement for injured Wolfsburg striker, Victor Osihmen, for Nigeria’s friendlies against Senegal and Burkina Faso later this month.

The Nigeria Football Federation made this known on its twitter handle that “Olanrewaju Kayode of Austria Wien has been invited in place of Victor Osimhen, who is still recovering from injury.”

Kayode has represented Nigeria at youth level, notably playing in the 2009 U-17 World Cup and U-20 World Cups in 2011 and 2013. However, this will be his first call up to the senior national team.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will tackle the Teranga Lions of Senegal on March 23, and the Stallions of Burkina Faso on March 27. Both matches will take place at the Hive Stadium in London.
