Monaco has beaten Manchester City to the signing of Jorge Marco de Oliveira Moraes (Jorge) from Flamengo, according to reports in the French papers.
The 20-year-old Brazilian made his debut for Brazil senior team earlier in January in a friendly match against Colombia.
Monaco snatched the promising talent from the nose of Manchester City, who scouted the left-back for several months ago but did not make firm push for the player.
French paper, L’Equipe, reports that after holding talks with officials from Monaco, the youngster decided to commit to the French Ligue 1 club.
The deal is said to be worth around £7.25m.
