EPL Round 19 Updates

EPL Round 19 Update

  1. It’s Chelsea’s 13th straight win and a remarkable way to end the year.
Cesc Fabregas became the first non-British player to reach 100 Premier League assists as he set up Willian against Stoke City. The Spaniard is also became the fastest player to achieve this feat, providing 100 assist in 293. Fabregas is only the fourth player to have provided that many final balls for goals, putting him alongside Ryan Giggs, Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard as the players to have achieved the feat. While it took Fabregas – 293 apps to set the record, Giggs played 367 games to set his record, Rooney played 445 games and Lampard – 559 games. Stoke City were no push overs, they scored two goals and put up a great fight but could not sustain it . Deigo Coasta’s 14th goal of the season, Willian brace and Cahil opener was all that mattered for chelsea after 90 minutes. Final Score: Chelsea 4-2 Stoke City
  2. Liverpool walked past Manchester city in a lone goal encounter. Pep must admit that he has come to learn in EPL at least in this first season. He needs to pay his dues. Final Score: Liverpool 1-0 Manchester City
  3. Hull City held Everton to a draw earlier on Friday night. Everton almost lost the match save for a late goal at 85th minute to share the point. Final Score: Hull City 2-2 Everton
  4. Burnley opened the floodgates against Sunderland in what proved to be a massacre. Defoe was on the score sheet again for Sunderland, he has been responsible for 5 of the last 6 goals for the Black Cats. Final Score: Burnley 4-1 Sunderland
  5. Ibrahimovic had his goal disallowed in what the referee saw as a high kick infringement. Afterwards, Victor Valdes (Sunderland) almost denied Manchester United any point, in what could have been a bad way to mark Sir Alex Ferguson birthday, but Martial and Pogba’s intervention gave the Devils the maximum point as Old Trafford. Final Scores: Manchester United 2- 1 Middlesbrough
  6. EPL defending champions, Leicester overcame West Ham at home. A superb cross by Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez was well headed into the net by his fellow compatriot, the clinical Islam Slimani. Final Score: Leicester City 1-0 West Ham
  7. Bournemouth pegged Swansea to the bottom of the table by trashing them in their own home. After the firing of a second manager this season — Bob Bradley — the need to make a quick decision as to who might be in the best position to pull the team out of relegation waters. Maybe few signings will do. Swansea 0-3 Bournemouth
  8. West Bromwich shocked Southampton away from home. S. Long’s early goal was cancelled by Phillips before Robson-Kanu gave a decisive goal to claim the needed points for the Baggies. Final Score: Southampton 1-2 West Brom
  9. Totthenham inflicted serious pain on Watford, with Harry Kane and Dele Alli both helping themselves to a brace. It was already 0 – 3 after 45 minutes. Younes Kaboul scored Watford’s consolation goal in the dying minutes. Should they carry this form to their next match at home to Chelsea, they will prove to be a hard nut to crack for the table toppers . Watford 1-4 Tottenham
  10. If you think you have seen a beautiful goal so far this season in English Premier League, then watch the Giroud scorpion kick to see if there is a more spectacular goal so far. Arsenal convincingly defeated a sorry Crystal Palace. Palace has been epileptic in their run so far, but they manage to avoid relegation at the end of the season. Alex Iwobi scored Arsenal’s second, and coincidentally his second Premier League goal. Arsenal 2-0 Crystal Palace
