EPL Round 18 Update

EPL 7 match update

  1. Watford secured a draw at home against Crystal Palace. Cabaye early goal was cancelled by Deeney’s penalty who got his 100th goal in Watford career. The match ended 1 – 1, Watford is now 10th and Crystal Palace 17th on EPL log.
  2. Arsenal got a lucky jackpot with Oliver Giroud late header at 87th minute to deny Westbromich any point away from home. Ozil in his third consecutive match has not been outstanding and I do not understand the rationale behind his pay rise. This could be an attempt to make Wenger allow him go pretty soon. The match ended 1 – 0 with Arsenal remaining 3rd on the log pending Manchester city result.
  3. Chelsea looks unstoppable with good football style and swag. Pedro is renewed in the attacking area with Hazard having fun, clean sheet, superb defence and midfield. Kudos to Conte who showed class without Costa and Kante. Pedro brace and Hazard’s penalty is all that sink Bournemouth. Absence of Nathan Ake was felt as well. It was 3 – 0 at the Bridge. Now 12 victories in a row
  4. Manchester United continued his rebirth with a 3 – 1 victory over Sunderland. Blind, Ibrahimovic and Mkhitaryan were all represented while Borini got a consolidation in his 90 minute strike.
  5. Leicester is a step forward and two steps backward. After a comfortable win over Manchester city, one would have thought that the siege is over but thereafter it’s defeat back to back or draw at its best. Everton got two goals to knock the current EPL title holder, Mirallas and Lukaku sorted the coup plotted against Ranieri.
  6. Burnley continue his good home form. Turf moor is a bad area to visit unless you are protected with quality shield. Middlesbrough couldn’t survive the axe with a slim margin. It was a lone goal by Gray that denied ‘Boro any point away from home.
  7. Westham away victory over a relegation bound Swansea is unbelievable. Ayew, Reid, Antonio and Carroll made life difficult for the Swans. Llorette goal at 89th minute has got no meaning.
