  1. NO NEW MINIMUM WAGE: Vanguard Newspapers reported that there were no provision made for the increase of salary for federal government workers, in the newly proposed 2017 Budget. The total budget figure of N7,281,361,611,853, marks an increase of 19.95 per cent, compared to that presented in 2016.
  2. ATIKU’S RUNNING MATE 2019: Former Finance Minister, Okonjo Iweala, disowns social media campaign posters touting her as the proposed running mate of former vice president Atiku Abubakar for 2019 presidential elections. Atiku is rumored to be the presidential flag bearer of a new mega political party, which is yet to be formed. Iweala said she had not spoken to anyone as regards running for a political office.

    CNN reported that all 47 people on board the Pakistan International Airlines flight that crashed near Abbottabad were killed, according to the airline. A pilot made a mayday call, saying he had lost control of one of the two engines, the airline’s chairman said. “We were confident that the plane could land with one working engine,” Saigol said.

  • If there should be anything included in the 2017 budget it should be provision for increase in minimum wage, if that is not increasing what is increasing? People are suffering. Please let’s forget about 2019 and face the realities on ground now. The greedy ones are already planning for next election and can’t do anything to help the present government. We don’t need any of these old cargos for 2019. Atiku my foot! Let’s talk 2017 and 2018 first.

    • Where is the money? Maybe if the allowances of NASS members are slashed, then the minimum wage can be increased.. As regards Uweala Na so she go talk now.. Politicians will never declare their intentions early.. Why not iweala for president?
